Every spring we celebrate Gauteng’s jacaranda season with our annual jacaranda photography competition. The 2021 competition was our biggest yet with three top hotel stays up for grabs sponsored by Radisson RED, Pablo House and The Northcliff for the top three winners.
Supported by Gauteng Tourism, Gautrain and Radisson Red Rosebank, in conjunction with our 2021 competition we organised six free guided jacaranda experiences, with a focus on photography to complement this year’s competition.
The walks, e-scooter and cycling tours followed different trails through the purple streets of Rosebank and surrounds led by local partners Joburg Photowalkers, 2Summers, MicroAdventure Tours and Honest Travel Experience, ending with drinks and an incredible view from the Radisson Red Rosebank rooftop.
From hundreds of entries received on Instagram, 10 finalists were chosen by our jury and the public were invited to vote for their winners.
This is our fourth year of marking out this season and giving it the attention we think it deserves. Through this popular campaign the monthly reach across our social media platforms and website combined topped an astonishing 1.3 million impressions.
